answering the tough questions!

Who we are?

Where/Why are you installing in my yard?

What are we doing?

We are Dig Dug inc. Shayne Stanbery is our company owner. Alexia is our back office. We are based in the Huntsville/Madison area! This is our community also, and we care about keeping it nice.  We have been doing underground utility and telecomm work for over 25 years!

Installing underground fiber lines! Making new options available in your area!

All of our work will be conducted in the utility easement right of way. Our approved plans are what we are required to follow during installation, and we are not at liberty to change them. the city corp of engineers and our bosses work together to draw the plans! we are just here to bring them to fruition.

What about my irrigation?

What is the paint/flags in my yard!? Are you digging there?!

Where/Why are you installing in my yard?

We ask that you mark any irrigation lines you may have that run through the utility easement ROW with flags or other markers, if you need flags we can provide them for you. If you do not know where your lines are- just let us know you have a system and we will do our best to avoid it- in the unfortunate event we do damage your sprinkler lines(or anything else) we encourage you to promptly reach out and let us know! We will get someone to fix the issue ASAP!

What is the paint/flags in my yard!? Are you digging there?!

No. We will only be in the utility easement. The paint/flags you see are to help us navigate your existing power/sewer/water/cable/fiber/gas lines. Please leave the paint and flags alone. If you remove them we wont know there’s an existing line there. This makes for an unsafe excavation for everyone. They are there for a reason, it is water based paint and will wash away with the rain. We will remove the flags!

What about my grass?

What is the paint/flags in my yard!? Are you digging there?!

In most instances, your grass will fully recover. we cut away the the grass and set it upside down on a tarp, then we put the rest of the dirt we dig up on top of the grass-this keeps the top clean and the roots in the dirt! By doing this we preserve the existing grass pretty well. please give it a little Time to heal, but in the event it does not.... Every few weeks we order a few pallets of fresh cut Bermuda grass. We source this grass from a local sod farm.  We lay it the same day they cut it! We ask that you Email us all photos of damaged areas that will require follow up. We do this because we use those photos to determine how much sod to order!

Have no fear!  Please reach out via email with photos if needed!! Once we have completed our project in your area, we can have guys come back through with pressure washers and make sure  there’s no lingering clay or unsightly machine tracks. This will happen AFTER we conclude ALL the digging in your area.

To see a small area of disturbance or a slightly raised area immediately after excavation is normal! We tamp the areas we dig as tight as we can but the earth will need a little time to settle back into place on its own as well. Deep holes and big hills is not normal, please email us with your address contact info and photos and we will get it taken care of!

How long is this going to take?
